Immerse Member Exclusive - Curator's Talk, 'Age of You'

September 3 @ 7pm

| Free – Exclusive to Immerse Members

The curators of MOCA’s fall exhibition, Age of You, will share and overshare the ideas behind what they call ‘The Extreme Self.’ What does it mean to be an individual today? A crowd? Do these terms still mean what they used to mean? Talking through the development of the exhibition and forthcoming book, and about the galaxy of contributors, many of whom are MOCA premieres, the curators will describe the shift from fossil to digital capitalism, how
you’ve become that precious new resource — data — and what this means for us all as we enter the new decade.

Age of You at MOCA is an exhibition about why the inside of your head feels so strange today. It features words by Basar/Coupland/Obrist in dialogue with visual contributions from 70 international artists, designers, musicians and technologists, unfolding as an immersive graphic experience designed by Daly & Lyon.

RSVP by Thursday, August 15 — membership@moca.ca

Please RSVP by the deadline to ensure your reservation. We cannot guarantee availability after August 15 due to limited space.

'Age of You' Preview

September 4 @ 6 – 7pm

| Free for Members

It’s about you. As the world shifts from fossil to digital capitalism, you’ve become that precious new resource: data.

You’re increasingly imaginary, invisible and immortal. Do we need a new word to describe this thing that individuality is morphing into?

You’re becoming your Extreme Self.

Light food and drinks will be served. Food by Forno Cultura.
Continue the evening until 10pm as we open the exhibition to the public.
